Odds and Ends

Just a quick not to let everyone know I'm still alive.

Yes, I've been slacking lately. I started on my thesis project and it's taking most of my time and brainpower. That said, not everything's been about school (at least not directly). I've posted a few new stories (check them out on my Free Fiction page) and I've also added a gallery of cover art concepts for you to take a look at on my Crown Jewels page.

As for my thesis - Crown Jewels - the rough draft's done - all 60,000 words of it and it's time to start on the hard part: revisions. This is the part where you have to set your ego aside and take a butcher's knife (no, not a scalpel) to everything you've thrown your heart and soul into, cutting whole scenes or even chapters that don't advance the story. I haven't even started my revisions and I've already got more than 3,000 words that are ready to go bye-bye. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if I have to add a few thousand words to meet my minimum goal of 50,000 words.

Such is the life of a writer.

And now it's time for me to get back to work so I can actually graduate in April.
